Flint Mayor Donald Williamson, Flint City Council don spirit of cooperation

Flint Mayor Donald Williamson, Flint City Council don spirit of cooperation--The Flint Journal

From the article...
City Administrator Darryl Buchanan signed a letter to the state saying that the city could end the 2007-08 fiscal year with a $9-million deficit. The city would have five years to pay off a deficit, according to state law.
While Townsend said the deficit number could change, he acknowledged $9 million was a "worst-case scenario."
The city's auditor, Brian Ross of Plante & Moran, said that while he couldn't say where the final numbers will shake out, there's no doubt that the city's deficit from 2007-08 will be "significant."
